How to Help
There are many ways that you can help The Brookwood School
continue to be successful and grow.
Financial Contributions
Your financial assistance is essential.
- Capital Campaign for Expansion: The Brookwood School is committed to filling the childcare needs of this community. To accomplish this we built a new building which allows us to care for almost twice as many children as we did previously. However, the existing plant requires ongoing improvements so we continue to solicit donations to our Capital Campaign to raise the funds to make these improvements.
- Annual Fundraising Campaign: Thanks to the generosity of people in our community, the wonderful things happening at The Brookwood School are available to families that could not otherwise afford to give their children such an outstanding start in life. Every year, The Brookwood School conducts a fund drive to help raise money to offset the cost associated with operating the school. Our fees do not cover the cost of educating and providing care for children, so we ask the community to help support our services. Donations are accepted throughout the
year. Please contact the school to make a donation or to learn about other ways you can help.
Special Fundraising Events
Throughout the year we try to host a variety of events with
the hope of finding something of interest for everyone. Here are
the events planned for 2006-2007:
- Chili Fest (October 23): Warm up your taste buds at
this wonderful family event, including great chili from many
local restaurants, baked goods, and lots of activities for the
whole family.
- Holiday Auction (December 16): Celebrate the spirit
of the season! Find a variety of items on auction, goods and
services that could never be found together in any department
store, such as diamond earrings and chimney cleaning, while
enjoying gourmet hors d'oeuvres and a variety of holiday
beverages. All proceeds will benefit the school's community
childcare programs.
- Scholastic Book Fair (February 9-11): Enrich your
reading collection and help support Brookwood's community
childcare program.
- Seed and Bulb Sale (March): Take advantage of this
opportunity to buy your seeds and bulbs for the coming
planting season and help support the school. We will be
selling packaged seeds in the upstairs hallway of the school,
and a Dutch Mill Bulbs catalog is available to help you grow
flowers like a master gardener!
Wish Lists
Each area of the school and children's center has a wish list
that is specific to their needs.
Volunteer Opportunities
The parent body at Brookwood is active and involved,
contributing at every level, from offering their talents and
services in the classroom, to fundraising and student
recruitment. Our families seek an environment in which their
children will be nurtured, their creativity encouraged, and
where parents' suggestions are valued.
