  Extended Campus

Beginning with the Preschool classes, the faculty makes use of the remarkable physical and cultural resources in the area as part of Brookwood's "extended learning."  We draw upon such institutions as the New York State Historical Association including The Fenimore Museum, the Farmers' Museum, the Biological Field Station, The Clark Sports Center, the Cooperstown Library, and the Discovery Center at SUNY, Oneonta, and others to enrich our theme-based studies. Projects involving Glimmerglass Opera and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum have also been developed as a part of our curriculum to further our students' cultural experiences and knowledge.

In addition, Lake Otsego, the woodlands, the marsh ecosystem, and Oaks Creek provide valuable resources which help cultivate an appreciation of nature, a sense of stewardship for the environment, and responsibility to the community at large.
